every day is party day

Well, at least it feels like it around here lately!  So grab your adult beverage of choice and settle in for more project inspiration.  Because tonight we’re celebrating Ginger’s 1st Blogoversary with a par-tay.

Have you met Ginger?  If not, and you like easy and creative craft ideas, you’re missing out.  And today would be the perfect day to head over to Ginger Snap Crafts (appropriately named I’d say) and say Congratulations!  And while you’re there check out a few of my favorite projects of Ginger’s.

Like her recent herb pot upgrade. Read the full post »

I just did an easy little project using empty glass jars that I’ll be posting about tomorrow…but look at how Kristi at Addicted 2 Decorating used them to make this awesome hallway artwork. Read the full post »

book page covered file cabinet

I know, I know … I’m supposed to be filing.

But the minute I started checking out filing cabinets online I just couldn’t shift back to this pile.

Seriously, the second I hit publish on this post, I pulled my ugly beast out of the corner and got to work.

I took some pics of her dusty rusty, decrepit state. Read the full post »

foto friday 5 {curacao memories}

Happy Friday!

I’ve shared with you the adventures that have been my first week back from vacation here and here.  So to say I haven’t really been out and about taking pictures of my daily activity is a bit of a no brainer.

But I thought it would be fun and a welcome reason to not get back to my filing to go through the pictures from my first month or so in Curacao and show you the sites as my husband showed them to me.  We had a lot of fun just meandering all around, checking out back roads and finding hidden gems.  I hope you enjoy!

The next three pictures are in and around the quarantine house and fort that we can see from our roof.

And this shot is from a hike up Mt. Cristoffel.  We have so many little bays filled with beautiful turquoise water, they never cease to amaze me.

Now, back to filing … well, I actually think I’m going to check out more of the project inspiration linked up here first, what’s a little more procrastination, right?!?  ;)

I posted on facebook that I’ve actually started a little file cabinet upgrade, of the actual cabinet itself … I’d love your guesses on what I’m doing.  Hmmmmm, what in the world could it be?!?! :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Ok…now remember how the tax peeps have been crimping my style for the past week? Well, I also have this baby to blame. Read the full post »

It’s {not always} a Cinch: a link party

Hey y’all!!

I’m back!  Vacation was fantastic!  Loved it so much!

Fun times with a great family, adorable nephew, funny brother, sister-in-law who thought the strike through was showing my blog mistakes.  (Sure do love you Bonnie!!)

And too many “just blog about it” jokes to go around.  My sweet, sweet mother didn’t even come to my defense…apparently I have a bit of a blog audition going on here, too.

Sure do love you family.  :)

And … after vacation … it’s always fun to be at the gate in the airport going to Curacao  … when I’m heading home.  Smile.

So, there’s really no complaining here.

But have you ever had those days when you thought you would be getting all crafty. Read the full post »

my voice

Are you watching the show The Voice?

I am in love with it.

I love the concept.

I love the coaching.

I love Blake Shelton.

And I have a new found love for Adam Levine.

I mean, a man covered in tattoos, wearing a chunky cardigan … something about that combo I. am. loving.

I do have a thing for juxtaposition.

But what I really love…

…is watching people follow their dreams.

Giving it their all.

Putting themselves totally out there with nothing but themselves, and their talent.

It gives me goosebumps…it brings tears to my eyes.

Standing in a fighting ring, belting it out against someone else with the same dream.

It makes me wonder…what is my wildest dream?

And, if I had the opportunity to pursue it, in a ring … competing with someone else with the exact same dream … and only one of us could succeed in that moment … would I hit the high note?

And you?  Do you ever wonder that?  Or wonder about something else entirely?

And … in contemplating my wildest dream, our little breadbox covered in random tile doesn’t seem so significant.  But we already knew that, didn’t we … or we wouldn’t be living here.  :)

And, please be sure to read the word “awesome” sarcastically wherever you see it in this post.

(These pictures were all taken before move in day in December 2009 … we were granted early access to do some painting and cleaning.)

And have you done any super simple projects lately?  Hopefully I’ll see you at the It’s a Cinch link party on Tuesday.
